To some this may sound alarmist. I assure you that I am not the alarmist, bed-wetting type. I’m a realist. And I am discerning a great and accelerating convergence of…

At first glance these seem like deliberately offensive retorts from Jesus. Of course, they are not. Yes, He was being blunt, but He was making…

In last Sunday’s message I mentioned the “second holy trinity” of the Christian faith. I hope this didn’t upset anyone. The word “trinity” in a theological sense is…

This is the Church’s ONE JOB. And we are taking this seriously. But here’s the exciting thing. We are now more…

The imagery of gates and roads are illustrative of God’s perspective, which is reality. So, Jesus is deadly serious. The pronouncement describes two contrasting life pathways.

The future is not far away.
It tends to arrive more rapidly than we expect.

I clearly remember one cold winter night in my room. I was alone and it was well after lights out. I was reading by candlelight (yes, we did have electricity!). It was a very cold, wet and windy night. I shivered in that spartan bungalow…

We have to be so discerning about the effects of syncretism – how subtle and dangerous it is, how prevalent, how determined it is. For the believer, syncretism is the death of the spiritual life. And so, we trust …

Eugenics science has become a major thing. But the science is becoming more and more synthesised with dangerous philosophy and ideology and, if left strictly unchecked (like we didn’t do with IVF for noble purposes), the science will increasingly become a means to evil ends.

Between now and then the Word will continue to speak. To woo His lost lambs home. The rhema Voice will be heard by millions of God’s people, too.

In the early Church, by the time John was writing his Gospel narrative, there had already arisen various heresies that disputed Jesus’ divinity, and also His humanity. Left unaddressed and unrefuted such heresies would have distorted the true Gospel. Some argued that…

Even though we are forgiven of our sins when we first surrender our lives to Christ – and that forgiveness for our offences against God is total and complete – we still have a corrupt soul. Even though we have been given a new spirit – born again – and that spirit is sanctified and…

Have seen it, that is? Had you been there would you have seen it? Had you, somehow, been standing at the foot of the cross on Golgotha (or, Skull Hill, as the locals called it), when Jesus died, would you have seen it?

So, “Jesus is Lord” means that every Christian lives a truly Christ-centred life. It is a totally Christ-centred life without separate compartments where Jesus is not Lord. And right there is a critical issue for believers in the 21st century where a Christless Christianity is slowly rising.

He is saying that the world considers us “easy meat”, lambs to the slaughter, weaklings, pathetic, of little consequence. The apostle says, “NO!” – he is so emphatic – “in ALL these things we are MORE than conquerors through Christ who loved us.”

God is searching for intercessors – prayer warriors who will gather to pray and take responsibility to MAKE THE NECESARY DECISIONS that will defeat the enemy. This is the Church doing the work no one else on earth can do.

I know this will be difficult for some of you to understand, or believe, but I am such an activist. I find it so hard to sit still. I find it hard NOT to think about things and imagine new possibilities or imagine new projects. Ever since I was young my mind was always going at full speed. I could never slow down….

Now, “two or three” sounds incredibly local to me! But with Jesus present, suddenly local goes global – and beyond. That is a stunning thought, don’t you think?

He fell asleep … how precious is that? He finished all his work for the Lord … and then, he “fell asleep”. This is reminiscent of …

Using this footy parlance as an analogy, how would you describe yourself as a believer? Are you a barracker with minimal investment in your faith walk? Or, are you a supporter?
